After the review process, we spent 8 hours field testing these sets to ensure they were the best sets out there.
Our testing began with unpacking the tool. For each tool set, we recorded the number and type of screwdrivers, as well as a description of the materials and other physical data.
For the general-purpose screwdrivers, we conducted a simple comparison test using four screwdrivers (or bits) from each set. Starting with a 2×4 softwood board with pre-drilled pilot holes, we installed and removed three deck screws with each tool. We then repeated the process on oak boards using wood screws. To test the precision screwdrivers, we replaced the battery in a smartwatch and disassembled an old CPU for recycling. To test the insulated screwdrivers, we installed two outdoor ceiling fans.
We noted the overall performance, usability, and any special features that were noticed during use. We also noted anything that seemed to be lacking in these areas. Finally, we organized our notes into categories and then awarded awards for each category.

We really like the versatility of this large screwdriver set. There are also six precision screwdrivers to make small jobs easier. Twenty screwdrivers is quite a lot, so it could be enough for a garage and garden shed.
The smooth, three-pronged handle felt sturdy in our testing and provided enough grip for general use, but sweaty or greasy hands could find it slippery. The handle doesn’t provide much cushioning, and the blade isn’t flat enough to prevent the screwdriver from rolling.
The magnetic tip is useful for tightening and loosening screws, and the hex spacers on the six largest screwdrivers make it easy to add torque with a wrench; it would be even easier if the hex portion was ½ inch longer. We also like the control provided by the twist-off cap on the precision screwdriver.

These Milwaukee demolition screwdrivers are built to last and are built for heavy use, which is why they performed well in our testing. To test them accurately, we had to buy larger screws and drill larger pilot holes in both hardwood and softwood.

In our testing, we were impressed by the Klein Tools Multi-Tool Screwdriver’s tight, secure fit. (Although sometimes the bits are so securely attached that they’re difficult to replace.) The large ratchet switch is located at the base of the handle, where your thumb and forefinger naturally rest, making it easy to switch modes.
The only weak point we noticed was the wobbly connection point between the shaft and the handle under the ratchet control switch, but this didn’t seem to affect the tool’s performance. With enough bits for most DIY repair projects, this tool would be a great addition to any portable toolbox.

The textured handle is comfortable to use, and the carrying case is well organized, although the markings on the drill bits are difficult to read.
